What is Scripture For?
By Tony Cooke
I recently heard someone say, "The Holy Spirit will never convict the believer of sin; He will only reveal to us who we are in Christ." Not only is there no scriptural support for such a statement, but if that were the case, then Paul instructed Timothy to use the Word of God to do something that the Holy Spirit would refuse to be a part of. Are You Resting or Wrestling?
By Joe Coyne
A word that has come up in my heart and mind lately is the word rest. The rest I am talking about is "the rest" of trusting in God and His Word. I believe at times we have literally tried to supersede God's authority in our lives by taking matters into our own hands. From last year's history you know how much money came in. So for this year's budget, determine how much that will increase based on the outreach work you will do. Then look at each expense. Ask, will that increase this year or stay the same or can I reduce it? Read this article by Dale Marples.
